PRUETT PUTS LEXUS ON FRONT ROW IN MONTREALWhile Memo Rojas regularly qualifies the car, the shorter two-hour format used in Montreal led to the veteran Pruett climbing behind the wheel on Friday to qualify for the first time since the Watkins Glen six-hour race in early June.
With the front-row starting position, it marks the ninth straight race that the #01 Telmex Lexus has qualified in the top two. During that stretch, the team has four pole positions and five seconds. Pruett and Rojas have now qualified on the front row at every race since the season-opening Rolex 24 in January.
Tomorrow’s race is scheduled to begin at 2:15 p.m. (EDT), with SPEED coverage beginning at 2 p.m.
Notes:
- Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas take a four-point championship lead into tomorrow’s race with just two races remaining after Montreal – at Salt Lake City and Homestead.
- The #01 Lexus has finished second in each of the two races run in Montreal to date.
- The Lexus-powered Ganassi team has been on the front row in each of the last nine races since the Rolex 24.
- Lexus will be looking for its 26th win in the series since 2004 and its third victory in the last four races.
