ROJAS GIVES LEXUS SEVENTH STRAIGHT FRONT ROW - #01 LEXUS TO START SECOND AT BARBER

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (July 18, 2009) – Memo Rojas qualified second for the Barber 250 at the Barber Motorsports Park Saturday to give Lexus its seventh consecutive front-row starting position in Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series competition.

The team’s seven front-row starting spots are made up of four pole positions and three seconds. The #01 Telmex Lexus has now qualified on the front row at every race since the season-opening Rolex 24 in January.

Rojas will once again partner with Scott Pruett in Sunday’s two hour and 45-minute event. The Lexus-powered duo enters the race as the series points leaders.

Tomorrow’s race is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. (EDT) and will be televised live on SPEED.

Notes:

- The Lexus-powered Ganassi team has been on the front row in each of the last seven races since the Rolex 24.

- Lexus will be looking for its 26th win in the series since 2004 and its third victory in the last four races.

- The Lexus-powered Ganassi #01 will be attempting to win its second consecutive Barber 250 tomorrow after winning in 96-degree heat a year ago.

Lexus Starting Positions:
#01 Rojas/Pruett 2nd

Memo Rojas: “We had a good car, much better than we had on Friday. We thought we might have a shot at the pole today, but we were slowed on the last lap by one of the Porsches. It should be an interesting race with the top three in the championship race all qualifying in the top three today.”
