ROJAS PUTS LEXUS ON FRONT ROW AT MID-OHIO

LEXINGTON, Ohio (June 19, 2009) – Memo Rojas qualified second for Saturday’s EMCO Gears Classic at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to give Lexus its fifth consecutive front row qualifying position in the Grand-American Rolex Sports Car Series.

Heavy morning rains followed by increasing heat and humidity left most of the competitors gambling on qualifying set-ups. Rojas held the top spot until the final minutes of the session when Jon Fogarty nipped him for the pole position.

Rojas will co-drive with Scott Pruett in Saturday’s race. The green flag is scheduled to drop at 5:00 p.m. EDT, with SPEED providing live coverage.

Notes:

- With today’s second in qualifying, the Lexus-powered Ganassi team has been on the front row in each of the last five races, including three pole positions.

- Memo Rojas has now qualified three times this season and has finished no worse than second with two pole positions and today’s front-row showing.

- Lexus will be looking for its second consecutive win and its 25th in the series since 2004 on Saturday.

- The Ganassi/Lexus team has earned three podium finishes at Mid-Ohio, with Scott Pruett and Max Papis winning in 2004, while Pruett combined with Luis Diaz to place second in 2005 and 2006.

Lexus Starting Positions:

Memo Rojas, #01 Telmex Lexus: “We didn’t have much time on the track this morning with the rain, so I think all of the teams were scrambling for their set-up today. The conditions really changed a lot. We’re not totally pleased with the car, so we’re going to have to make some changes in tomorrow’s warm-up. It’s hard to predict what will happen tomorrow.”
