Ken Baker will be on the other side of the microphone and under the spotlight when he competes in the 2009 Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race. Baker is currently the Executive News Editor for E!, where he directs news gathering for the network’s platforms, including “E! News,” “Daily 10” and E!Online.
Previously, Baker was the editorial director of Usmagazine.com, directing Us Weekly’s digital content, while also serving as “the TV face” of the magazine in the broadcast media. He served as Us Weekly’s west coast executive editor, and prior to that, he was the magazine’s Los Angeles bureau chief, where he oversaw the news gathering and management of its vibrant West Coast operation.

Baker also worked as a Staff Correspondent for People magazine, where he reported on celebrity and human-interest stories.

Baker appears regularly as an expert on “The Today Show,” E!, Fox News Channel, MSNBC and CNN. Baker serves on the Ambassador Board of the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles.

Highlights:

• Author of three books, including critically-acclaimed Man Made: A Memoir of My Body, which describes his 12-year battle with a brain tumor; They Don’t Play Hockey in Heaven: A Dream, a Team and My Comeback Season, and debut novel, Hollywood Hussein.
• Began journalism career as a news assistant for David Brinkley and Ted Koppel in the Washington bureau of ABC News.
