Actor and director Eric Close is looking to add “racecar driver” to his resume when he competes in this year’s Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race.

Currently, Close is featured in the hit CBS series “Without a Trace,” playing FBI agent Martin Fitzgerald, in a role he has held since 2002. Having appeared in more than 150 episodes on the hit show, Close now wears two hats by directing as well as portraying a key character on the top-rated program.

His feature film work includes roles in “American Me,” “Taking Liberty,” “Safe House,” “Alvarez & Cruz,” “The Sky is Falling” and “Liberty, Maine.”

Away from the camera, Close, his wife Keri and two daughters are very involved in the community and actively participating in several charities. Eric and his family spend time each year building homes for homeless families in Tijuana, Mexico. They are involved with “The Giving Spirit,” a charity that supplies Los Angeles’ homeless with duffle bags full of everyday necessities during the holidays. For the last four years, Close also has partnered with the Verizon Foundation as a “Verizon Community Champion” traveling to schools around the country promoting the importance of literacy.

Highlights:

• Held regular series roles in “Dark Skies” and “McKenna,” as well as a recurring role in the final season of “Sisters.”

• Starred in the television movies “Follow the Stars Home,” “Without Consent,” “The Stranger Beside Me,” “Hercules and the Lost Kingdom,” “Long Island Fever” and “Keeping Secrets.”
