Biography

Ashworth was born and raised in Sussex, England, and still has family in Eastbourne and Battle. After traveling across the U.S. for three years, Ashworth made the move to Los Angeles, where he began his career at North Hollywood Toyota as a sales associate. Ashworth moved quickly up the ranks through sales, finance and sales management. He became general manager in 1993 and vice president and partner in 1999.

Ashworth has helped transform his store considerably over the past 20 years. North Hollywood Toyota is now a full-service dealership with more than 200 employees; it operates sales, leasing, pre-owned, parts and service departments—plus a body shop.

A spectator at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach for more than two decades, Ashworth is looking forward to jumping behind the wheel. He also enjoys watching Formula One racing and the Los Angeles Lakers, playing golf and tennis, and scuba diving, among other interests.

Ashworth has two teenage daughters from a previous marriage, Chloe, 19, and Charlotte, 18, and is engaged to Veronica Leander.
