Biography

Thanks to the highest winning bid at the Boys and Girls Club charity auction, Annamarie Dean will make her second appearance in the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race this year.

Dean is a Southern California native. Born and raised in Santa Barbara, she moved to Long Beach and attended California State University, Long Beach where she graduated with at B.A. in Recreation. Following graduation, Dean worked as a recreation therapist with adolescents at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital.

Dean’s passion for children has been evident in both her personal life and professional careers. In addition to her earlier work as a recreation therapist, she also worked at Ability First while in college, assisting disabled children in the after-school program. Dean still enjoys working with children, including her four sons who range from age 3 to 8.

Highlights:

• In addition to raising four boys, enjoys running 5k road races, snow skiing, water skiing, wakeboarding and occasionally driving her vintage Winston Cup car.

• Credits the Miller Children’s Hospital for saving her 3-year-old son’s life earlier this year.

• Participated in the 2007 Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race
