FATHER'S DAY GIFTS FOR GREAVES AND HUSEMAN AT CRANDON

CRANDON, Wis. - While Johnny Greaves celebrated Father’s Day weekend both celebrating his own Pro 4 victory and watching his son CJ take a win in Super Buggy, Rick Huseman (pictured) gave himself a gift on his first Father’s Day as a dad by making it a Toyota sweep when the TRAXXAS TORC Series opened it’s 2010 season with the Brush Run races at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway.

Saturday’s Round 1 races featured a double visit to Victory Lane for the Greaves family. CJ Greaves won the Super Buggy race in his Toyota-powered machine, leaving his father a little choked up before he had to hop in his Pro 4 truck for battle.

"I was sitting on the line and was getting so nervous when he took off because he's never been through that first turn and I know what it's like," said Greaves. "It was a fast car and when he got out in the lead and led the race and on the last lap came around and won, it brought a tear to my eye. That's not fair! How can I go to battle when he's got me all soft now! It was a great feeling."

CJ repeated the Super Buggy win on Sunday, from an eighth-place start, and holds a commanding lead in the points.

The elder Greaves somehow managed to not let his emotions get the best of him. He had qualified on pole and finished ahead of fellow Toyota driver Rick Huseman, who earned the Oakley Bomb award for posting the fastest lap around the Crandon track with a new record. Greaves also finished third in the Crandon Cup, which pits both Pro 2 and Pro 4 trucks against each other, with the Pro 2 trucks getting a head start.

Huseman parlayed his speed into victory on Sunday and earned a second Oakley Bomb Award for another fast lap. He left the Big House with a seven-point lead in the Pro 4 standings.

Former motocross ace Jeremy McGrath, who’s also proving a potent force on four wheels, had a podium finish in Pro 2 on Saturday, finishing third.

Rounds 3 and 4 of the TRAXXAS TORC Series will be at Bark River International Raceway in Bark River, Mich., on July 10-11.
