TORRANCE, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2009) – Throughout the 2009 five-race SCORE desert series, only a select few racers were successful in completing every mile of rugged terrain and earn Toyota Milestone Awards.

“This award recognizes the special efforts put forth by each of 14 elite desert racers that completed every mile of the most demanding motorsports environment -- these racers are in a category of their own”, said Les Unger, Toyota national motorsports manager.

The Toyota Milestone Award is presented to all SCORE off-road competitors in the professional four-wheel classes who complete every required mile (1,713.76) in the five-race desert series. The 14 drivers who earned the 2009 Toyota Milestone Award are Ed Stout, Robby Gordon, (SCORE Trophy-Truck), Randy Wilson (Class 1), Cody Robinson, Samuel Ariaza, Eric Duran, Brian Wilson, Justin Smith (Class 1-2/1600), Alonso Angulo (Class 5/1600), Dan Chamlee (Class 7), Clyde Stacy (Class 8), Mike Lawrence, Scott Gailey (Class 10) and Brent Parkhouse (SCORE Lite).

This year marks the 24th consecutive year that Toyota will present the Toyota Milestone Award to the off-road racers who finished every mile of every race in the prestigious SCORE Desert Racing Series.

The 14 Toyota Milestone Award winners will be honored at the annual SCORE Awards Night on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
