Largest Purse in Off Road Racing For the Jason Baldwin Memorial CupThe final race of the weekend, the Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup will feature the Pro 4 and Pro 2 drivers in a shoot out for the Cup title and winner take all purse. The winner will be awarded the largest purse in off road racing history--$66,000, an amount chosen to symbolize Jason's racing number, 66. A unique, perpetual trophy is also being commissioned for the Cup.
The Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup is open to all CORR drivers who have raced this year, or in the past. A drawing for qualifying positions will be held after the driver's meeting on Friday, October 20th; only drivers who have registered will be able to draw a number. The qualifying session will follow at 4:30pm.
Drivers should pre-register with CORR by calling (949) 467-2397 or they can register on-site. The registration deadline is Friday, October 20, at 1pm. There will be a $500 registration fee. Further details and rules will be explained at Friday's driver's meeting.
Jason Baldwin has a long resume of accomplishments in racing including the 2004 Pro 4 CORR Champion title, the SCORE Trophy Truck Championship title, and the 2005 Borg Warner Championship Cup winner. Jason Baldwin died on November 17 on his way home from the Baja 1000.
