Kincaid Back in Points Lead

Jeff Kincaid and his Forest County Potawatomi Toyota Tacoma traveled to Bark River Michigan for the U.P. Off Road 100. Jeff was focused on regaining his points lead.

Round Five

Saturday, July 8th began round five of racing and it was a beautiful day until the start of the Pro- Lite race. When the Pro- Lites came to the starting line, the clouds started to gain strength and rain began to fall. When the green flag flew, 24 Pro-Lites raced down the land rush start and tried to keep a straight line on the slick track. Jeff came out of the corner in second position behind the race leader Kyle Leduc. With conditions worsening from the rain, Jeff kept steady and smooth lines, trying to maintain his second position ahead of Chad Hord's Nissan. When the white flag flew, indicating one lap remaining, Kincaid was content with finishing second because he had steering problems most of the race, and the track conditions were steadily getting worse. With two corners left to the finish line, Jeff had closed the gap on Leduc because of lap traffic and the race was tightening up! Leduc swung real wide in the corner which left the door open for Jeff to make a move. Jeff did just that! Jeff made a terrific inside move and slid by Leduc in the corner to take the lead. With the crowd going crazy, Kincaid held his lead to the finish and notched his 40th CORR Pro-Lite victory.

Round Six

Sunday, July 9th round six with sun shining all day, 24 Pro- Lites came out for the start of the race. When the green flag dropped, Jeff came out of the first corner in 6th position. Kincaid set a torrid pace and set out to pass the field. He steadily made pass after pass and moved his way up to second position after the first lap was completed. Now he was closely behind California driver Robert Naughton. Jeff closed on Naughton and kept steady pressure on him until he passed him on the second lap for the race lead. Racing hard, Chad Hord moved himself up to second and tried to pressure Jeff throughout the race. Kincaid was on his marks and maintained his lead. Jeff wasn't going to be denied this victory, and crossed the finish line with his 41st Pro- Lite victory.

Jeff Kincaid now has regained the points lead over second place Chad Hord, with 80 to 62 points respectively. Rounds 7& 8 are in sunny Chula Vista California on July 22 & 23, Jeff is looking forward to the next round.
