KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 M&M’s Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Do you enjoy racing at Watkins Glen?
“I like road courses. They’re fun. For me, road racing is enjoyable. You get a chance to turn right and turn left and do something different than what you typically do. For me, I’m excited about it. Hopefully we have a good shot at running well there again this year. We won two years ago, finished fourth last year so we’ve been decent.”

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 FedEx Freight Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

What does it take to be successful at Watkins Glen?
“We really don’t spend a whole lot of time working on our road course program so we go there and just really hope to keep it on the race track. We have a really good record at Watkins Glen, several top-10s and top-fives, but we have never had really a race winning driver or car there so we hope to just go there and solidify a good finish and obviously keep the stable of cars as healthy as possible.”

MARCOS AMBROSE, No. 47 Little Debbie Toyota Camry, JTG Daugherty Racing

What do you like about racing at Watkins Glen?
“Watkins Glen is a high-speed, old style road course and it has a lot of character to it. You can carry a lot of momentum, a lot of speed and it’s a fun place to race. You can’t guarantee a win, but we know it’s one of our better chances of the year to run really well there and get our first win for JTG Daugherty Racing. We want to go there with optimism and we’re looking forward to it. There’s a chance, but there’s no guarantee.”

BORIS SAID, No. 83 Red Bull Toyota Camry, Red Bull Racing Team

Are you excited for this opportunity with the Red Bull Racing Team?
“I can’t put into words how excited I am. I’m over the moon about it. I’ve known Jay Frye (general manager, Red Bull Racing Team) for about 20 years and consider him a good friend. When Brian (Vickers) got sick earlier in the season, Jay was one of the first calls I made. I’ve been trying to do my own deal the past five years. Running a program with only four or five people is really tough. You end up going to the races more worried about decals, hotel rooms, sponsors, making sure people are taken care of and everything else. I haven’t gone to the race track in a while where I won’t have to worry about anything other than driving.”

What are your expectations for the weekend?
“I’ve raced for so many different teams in my career that I’m kind of used to getting in new cars. I have a step-by-step process, and try to check each thing off the list. First thing is to go out and get comfortable and see what we have got. In my mind, after spending some time with the team, they are a team capable of winning. Hopefully we will be a top-10 team on the track. That is my initial goal for the race -- to run top-10 most of the race and drive into the top-five during those last few laps and put myself in the position to win.”

NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS)
NEWS, NOTES & NUMBERS: This year, Toyota drivers have combined for 11 wins, 46 top-five results, 90 top-10 finishes and 10 poles after 21 of 35 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) races … Camry drivers Kyle Busch (fourth), Steve Wallace (seventh), Brendan Gaughan (eighth), Trevor Bayne (ninth) and Jason Leffler (10th) are in the top-10 in the NNS point standings … Toyota team owner Rusty Wallace will visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, N.Y., on Thursday, Aug. 5, prior to the Watkins Glen race weekend … After leading 230 laps last weekend at Iowa Speedway, Camry drivers surpassed the 10,000 laps led mark and have now led 10,105 in NNS competition since joining the series in 2007.

BRENDAN GAUGHAN, No. 62 South Point Casino & Hotel Toyota Camry, Rusty Wallace Racing

How much confidence do you have going into Watkins Glen after your third-place result at Road America?
“I’m looking forward to The Glen. They’ve made Watkins Glen such an easy race course taking the ‘boot’ out of it for the NASCAR guys that it’s not quite the challenge that Montreal or Road America is going to give you. But it’s still a fantastic race course. Both Rusty Wallace (Racing) teams were really good at Road America and we expect to be that good or better at Watkins Glen.

What type of racing do you expect to see at Watkins Glen compared to other road courses?
“It’s not as technical. You’re going to see a lot more of the guys who weren’t as good at Road America and normally aren’t as good at Montreal be able to keep up because Watkins Glen is an easier road course. Put the ‘boot’ back in it, baby. You’re still going to see some great road racing. You’ll see a bunch of the road course guys come back and give it a shot. I love racing against them.”

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS)
NEWS, NOTES & NUMBERS: This year, Tundra drivers have combined for six wins, 30 top-five results, 66 top-10 finishes and four poles after 13 of 25 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races … Tundra drivers Bodine (first), Aric Almirola (second), Timothy Peters (fourth), Skinner (eighth) and David Starr (ninth) are in the top-10 in the NCWTS point standings … Johanna Long, 18, will make her second-career NCWTS start for Billy Ballew Motorsports at Nashville.

ARIC ALMIROLA, No. 51 Graceway Pharmaceuticals Toyota Tundra, Billy Ballew Motorsports

Does the track change during the race at Nashville?
“Nashville is a quick track. The concrete surface doesn’t change much during the race, even as the sun sets and the temperature drops. It’s pretty consistent. It will take on more rubber, though. It usually makes the track tighter as the race goes on. That’s something to take into account when you’re making adjustments. Since I’ve been racing, I’ve hoped to win a guitar at Nashville. It’s really unique, definitely one of the coolest trophies that you can take home. It’s decked out with a Sam Bass design. Of course our team wants to win every race we go to, but getting that guitar in victory lane is just another special incentive.”

TODD BODINE, No. 30 Germain.com Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing

How does the concrete surface at Nashville change as the temperature drops?
“Concrete changes a lot less than asphalt. The temperature change doesn’t create near the grip as asphalt. But, with concrete comes bumps and Nashville has its share. You really have to get your shocks right to be able to get over the bumps and get the highest grip level. We were a little too loose last time, but I think we have a shot Saturday. We don’t show up to run second.”
