BROWN SURGING – After growing pains with his new team had slowed him at the beginning of the season, Antron Brown appears to be peaking as the series nears the Countdown playoffs. In the last four races, Brown has been the number one qualifier twice. He also progressed to the finals two weeks ago at Englishtown and to the semi-finals this past week in Bristol. He appeared to be headed to at least the semis at Topeka as well, only to red-light on a potential victory. Brown is just 41 points away from fourth place.

WORSHAM TOO... – After watching Al-Anabi Racing teammate Larry Dixon steal most of the headlines through the first half of the 2010 season, Del Worsham has moved to the forefront over the last two weeks. Worsham narrowly lost in the finals at Englishtown and then went to the semi-finals last weekend in Bristol. In both cases, he defeated series point leader Robert Hight in the process. Worsham was 10th in the points heading into Englishtown, and has now moved up to eighth-place, just 31 points behind seventh.

LAST YEAR AT NORWALK – Larry Dixon defeated Brandon Bernstein to win at Norwalk a year ago as a Toyota-sponsored driver not only won the race, but also registered fast ET (Dixon – 3.882), high speed (Antron Brown - 305.01 mph) and fast reaction time (Shawn Langdon 0.46). Brown advanced to the semi-finals where he fell to Dixon, while both Langdon and Morgan Lucas lost in the first round. In Funny Car competition, both Del Worsham and Cruz Pedregon were eliminated in the opening round.

DIXON WATCH – After being defeated in the first-round this past weekend to fellow Toyota driver Morgan Lucas, Larry Dixon will be looking to get back on track as the defending champion at Norwalk. For the season, Dixon has six victories in 12 races and has advanced to the semi-finals or finals in nine of 12 races this season.
