Having made his debut in 2004, Morgan Lucas has consistently made progress up the Top Fuel ladder, culminating in his qualifying for the Countdown to the Championship playoffs in both 2009 and 2010. In his debut season in 2004, Lucas proved how quickly he could adapt and adjust to the Top Fuel series by posting two runner-up finishes in his rookie season as well as clocking his career-best performances for time (3.814 sec.) and speed (314.61 mph)over the quarter-mile in 2005. By 2006, he continued to show his potential by racing to five semi-final finishes – including the prestigious season-opening Pomona Winternationals. Lucas went on to a 15th-place finish in 2007 followed by a 12th place finish in 2008. In 2009, he earned his first Top Fuel victories with triumphs at Atlanta, Brainerd and Memphis, along with a pair of No. 1 qualifying efforts in notching his first berth in the Countdown playoffs. He earned another playoff berth this past season on the way to a 10th-place finish. He has career 1000 feet bests of 3.814 E.T. and 316.90 mph entering 2011. Morgan is the son of Lucas Oil mogul – Forrest Lucas.
