Biography

Jeff Arend, a former resident of Toronto, ON, has paid his dues in a sport that many times only allows one true shot at the big show. As a 24-year veteran of the sport, Arend took the wheel of the DHL Toyota Solara last summer only after the tragic loss of driver Scott Kalitta at Englishtown. As a 1-time national event winner (1996 – Reading) and #1 qualifier at his last race in a Funny Car at the Winternationals in 2007, Arend has consistently posted better than average reaction times over his career. Being the first Canadian to surpass the 300 mph mark, Arend has posted career bests of a 4.71 second E.T. and speed of 328 mph. As the full-time driver of the DHL Nitro Toyota Camry Solara in 2009, Arend should be able to match his consistency and momentum with more trips to the winners circle.
