Cruz Pedregon will begin his fourth year driving the nitro-powered Toyota Camry Solara in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series. After struggling early in 2010, Pedregon closed the season with a flurry, winning two Countdown events and qualifying in the top six in each of the season’s final 10 races. He placed 11th overall. In 2009, he made four semi-finals on the way to placing 12th overall. Pedregon won the season’s final three races in 2008 to capture his second NHRA Nitro Funny Car championship (the first being in 1992). He has a career best E.T. of 4.026 over 1000 feet along with a top speed of 307.16 mph entering the 2010 campaign. Along with his two championships, Pedregon has 32 career wins with his 28 Funny Car victories ranking sixth on the all-time win list.
