Red Horse Racing was formed when Tom DeLoach and Jeff Hammond joined forces to purchase Clean Line Motorsports in 2005. DeLoach is a former Mobil Corp. executive and was the worldwide coordinator of Mobil’s motorsports programs from 1993 until he retired from the company in 2000. Hammond is a former NASCAR Cup championship-winning crew chief (with Darrell Waltrip) and now serves as a television analyst for FOX Sports.
Timothy Peters returns to the team in 2010, joined by new teammates Justin Lofton, the 2009 ARCA champion, and former Formula 1 driver Nelson Piquet Jr.
Peters won his first career NCWTS race with Red Horse Racing at Martinsville in October 2009.
