Billy Ballew Motorsports (BBM) heads into 2010 for its 15th year of competition in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The racing organization began campaigning Toyota Tundras at the beginning of the 2008 season.
Formed in 1996, Billy Ballew -- with the help of fellow Georgians, Tony and Mark Gibson – joined together to compete in an ARCA series race together at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and later in the season, the team made its NCWTS debut at Bristol Motor Speedway
The team started competing full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2002 and has had a variety NASCAR drivers over the years. The list includes Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Aric Almirola, Brian Ickler, John Andretti, Kenny Wallace, Paul Menard, Bill Lester, Geoffrey Bodine, Joe Ruttman and a host of others. Shane Hmiel piloted the No. 15 to the team’s first win at Las Vegas in 2004, in the team's 100th start in the NCWTS. The team has now recorded 17 wins since its inception.
The 2009 season was a banner year for BBM, as the team’s two entries combined to register seven wins and 19 top-five finishes, and the No. 51 Tundra finished second in the final NCWTS owner’s point standings.
