SCOTT SCORES WIN NUMBER ONE - Brian's Tundra Tames 'The Monster Mile'

DOVER, Del. (May 30, 2009) -- Brian Scott, driver of the Xpress Motorsports No. 16 Albertson's Tundra, recorded his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) win in Saturday night's 200-lap race at the Dover International Speedway one-mile, concrete oval.

The 21-year-old driver registered his inaugural NASCAR triumph in his 39th career NCWTS start. He led the field once -- for the final 14 circuits around the Delaware oval -- on his way to victory lane.

The Boise, Idaho-native was running third late in the event when race-leader Kyle Busch and second-place Colin Braun both had tire problems which resulted in them making contact with the wall. Until that point in the race, Busch had led the field five times in his Tundra for a total of 133 laps. He would eventually finish ninth.

"It feels great," said Scott, after the race. "It's been a long time coming. I got to thank everybody back in Idaho. I got to thank my Dad, 'Thank you Dad. Thanks Mom.' This is awesome. I'm so happy to win with this team. These guys are like my brothers -- they've been so supportive. I wish my family and everybody could be here because this is just an awesome feeling."

"I watched all those tires blow," added Scott. "It was kind of scary. My crew chief (Jeff Hensley) kept me calm and kept saying that we were getting really good tire wear. Track position was the key and at the end we played the game perfectly. At times I didn't think it was the right call or we were going to be in position to win, but it all worked out and now we're in victory lane."

Following Scott to the checkered flag were David Starr (third), Mike Skinner (eighth), Busch (ninth) and Terry Cook (10th). Other Tundra drivers in the field were Tayler Malsam (12th), Max Papis (16th), Timothy Peters (17th), Todd Bodine (18th), Johnny Benson (20th), T.J. Bell (23rd) and Brian Ickler (25th).

It was the fifth win this year for a Tundra driver in the first seven NCWTS races of the season. In addition, it marks the 56th win for a Tundra driver since Toyota joined the series at the start of the 2004 season.

In the unofficial NCWTS point standings following the Dover race, Skinner now trails first-place Ron Hornaday, Jr. by just 27 points. Following Skinner in the standings are Busch (fourth), Scott (fifth), Bodine (sixth) Cook (seventh), Starr (eighth) and Benson (10th).

The NCWTS returns to action at Texas Motor Speedway, June 5.
