Established in 1988, the Indianapolis, Ind. based organization, Team 6R Racing, began with a group of eight friends with a passion for racing and a penchant for fun. From the beginning, the team has placed priority on three specifi c team goals: focus on safety fi rst, maintain a winning attitude and have fun.

To start the venture, a single USAC Midget race car was purchased with the intention of entering it into the “Thursday Night Thunder,” and the ESPN racing series, for about one year. The car was purchased from Gary Runyon, along with the “6R” title, and was entered into the race with Jim Keeker as the driver. Our team won that fi rst race. Then, the next day, the car was entered into another race at the Milwaukee Mile, won again and set the track record as well. Now 20 years and over 50 wins later, the team is still going strong.

Team 6R Racing has a unique and successful approach to racing that has enabled the team to establish and maintain relationships with fans and drivers such as Keeker, Jack Hewitt, Jason Leffler, Donnie Beechler, Bud Kaeding, Michael Lewis, Page Jones and David Steele. Entering into the 2009 season, driver line-up will include Kody Swanson, Hunter Schuerenberg, Jacob Wilson and Brian Tyler.
